POSITION SUMMARY
Product Applications Specialist, Technical Sales Specialist for our Plastics Technology Group.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Work with customers in a consulting role to design best solutions for their plastics injection molding process using Bauer’s gas assist technology. This also includes assistance with tool design and processing.
Establish cost of ownership and payback models for customers as related to investing in Gas Assist Injection Molding systems.
Once customer tailored solution has been designed and customer value has been established, develop customer proposal and related documents.
Close the sale or, if working through distribution, help distribution close the sale.
In areas where Bauer sells through distribution, support distributor with the process described above.
Developing a detailed list of potential customer which could benefit from Bauer’s PTG product portfolio / systems solution. Actively and systematically promote Bauer’s products to them.
Attend trade shows and PTG summits to network and generate leads.
Spearhead deal winning sessions to successfully win projects over the competition.
Provide onsite start-up assistance and training during installation of new equipment.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have hands-on experience with plastic injection molding processes. Thorough knowledge of the injection molding industry is required. Must have a good understanding of the technical aspects of plastic injection molding technology, and tool design for various different applications.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field preferred. May be substituted with corresponding experience.
Strong technical as well as business aptitude
Must be an excellent communicator and be able to establish relevancy at all levels of potential customers’ organizations.
Ability to build strong, lasting relationships with customers
Must be able to teach others effectively
Must be responsive in nature with ability to follow-up and bringing open items to closure
Must be highly disciplined and organized
Must be self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision
Good working knowledge of computers.

Vision abilities required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance with lifting. Some product demonstrations may require the wearing of hearing protection. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA.
The candidate will be travelling extensively (75% minimum). Overnight stays are required. Must have valid passport and able to travel international.
