Job Description | Product Designer’s primary function is to detail components to support procurement assemblies and to support sales, manufacture, and servicing of Hydro-Gear products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Detailed design of components and assemblies; other applicable drawing standards, and to support sales, manufacturing, and servicing of Hydro-Gear products. Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerance methods to designs. Apply advanced drawing techniques in I-Deas and NX CAD/CAE software. Support Product Engineering with analysis of tolerances, procurement of prototype components, building prototype units and testing. Participate in research and development of new components, methods and materials for application in products. Support external and internal advanced analyses of components including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, and vibration analysis.

Education And/Or Experience
Requires a 1-year certificate in Computer Aided Design from a college or technical school or associate degree with emphasis in Computer Aided Design. Have a working knowledge of Computer Aided Design and Engineering (CAD/CAE) software. Communicate details both orally and in writing regarding drawings and designs. Demonstrated innovativeness and creative ability. Willingness to take ownership and participate in ‘hands-on projects. Knowledge of complete product development process from concept to production is a plus. Knowledge of fluid power dynamics a plus. |
