Inovio Pharmaceuticals is a Blue Bell, PA-based vaccine product development company with research and engineering facilities in San Diego, CA and Blue Bell, PA. Inovio is developing a new generation of vaccines, DNA vaccines, to treat and prevent cancers and infectious diseases. These SynCon® vaccines are designed to provide broad cross-strain protection against known as well as newly emergent strains of pathogens such as influenza. These vaccines, in combination with Inovio’s proprietary electroporation delivery devices, have been shown to be safe and generate significant immune responses. Inovio’s clinical programs include HPV/cervical dysplasia and cancer (therapeutic), prostate cancer (therapeutic), hepatitis B (therapeutic) and HIV vaccines (both preventive and therapeutic). Inovio is currently expanding our product development efforts and is seeking a Product Development Associate with a strong background in immunology.
Job Description:
This is a position at the interface of research, engineering, product development and clinical development groups. Working together with the Clinical and Product Development groups, the candidate will be responsible for data analysis of cellular (e.g., flow cytometric and ELISpot) and humoral (e.g., ELISA) immune assays. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting with Inovio clinical studies and managing data sent to the company from clinical trial sites, including working internally in collaboration with the Product Development, Engineering and Clinical teams in order to analyze clinical trial data. Strong communication skills – both verbal and written – as well as organizational skills are imperative. A strong background in immunology is required and experience with molecular biology is desirable. Experience with statistical data analysis is a plus, as is experience working with research animals.
Essential Job Functions:
•Collect, analyze and present data at both internal meetings with other Inovio scientists and collaborators as well as at external scientific meetings.
•Perform program/project management tasks to facilitate pre-clinical to clinical development of vaccine candidates.
•Participate in research and clinical site training and initiation in the use of the electroporation-based delivery devices for the company’s several ongoing and planned pre-clinical research and clinical studies.
•Interface with external research collaborators to manage pre-clinical research studies.
•Assist in projects requiring collaborations with other research personnel within Inovio as well as collaborations with external partners.
•Assist in writing grants, internal study reports and reports for regulatory filings from time to time as directed to support the company’s product development pipeline.
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in immunology, or closely related field, with 2-4+ years industry experience in a research and/or development environment.
Essential Requirements:
•Technical writing, verbal communication and oral presentation skills are critical.
•Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% within the U.S. and possibly overseas.
•Prior experience working with research animals is essential.
•Technical proficiency, ability to learn new techniques quickly, effective problem solving and critical thinking skills required.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/Word as well as data analysis graphing programs, such as Prism.
•Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
•Ability to work in a team environment.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. |
