About the Role:
Hydro Aluminum North America, Inc. is actively recruiting a Product Development Engineer/Program Manager for our Western Region (Phoenix) to supply strong engineering support to its manufacturing processes.
Area of Responsibility
Provides strong HSE leadership at all levels. Ensures Hydro's HSE standards are well integrated into the manufacturing processes. Leads by example that safety is a way of life and demonstrates a passion for an injury-free workplace.
Works closely with sales team and customers to develop and document product requirements
Concepts, designs, validates, industralizes and fully releases aluminum extruded and fabricated parts and assemblies to met product requirements
Develops 3D models using SolidWorks software and perform FEA on structural components when required
Project manages product development cycle and on-boarding process of new products including project plan creation, tracking progress to the plan, conducting project meetings and reporting status in project review meetings. Also manages imporvements to existing products or processes.
Determines tool requirements in terms of capacity and capability and coordinates justification and initial build of fabrication tools.
Assists in developing engineering processes and procedures to meet ISO 9001 requirements.
Supports all engineering functions within the plant facilities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
•Minimum requirement of BS in Mechanical Engineering
•Minimum 7 years experience in new product development and project management
•Strong communication skills. Must possess full communication capability in English.
Spanish capability is desirable
•SolidWorks related experience is preferred, experience in other 3D modeling software will be considered
•Experience in the fabrication of metal components including extruding, machining, stamping, punching and assembly is a plus.
•Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and quality interpretation
