Seagate in Longmont, CO is seeking a Product Development Technician to join our team. The Product Development Technician works with the product development mechanical engineering team. This is a junior level technician position; working under the guidance of a senior technician. In this role the technician is responsible for:
setting-up test equipment and associated instrumentation
executing standard shock, vibration, and diagnostic tests per written work instructions
documenting test results
lab maintenance including calibration, safety, and housekeeping records
Qualifications
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years experience working in a technical environment (Such as precision mechanical assembly work , laboratory work involving data collection, electronics assembly use of oscilloscope , and/or tasks involving programming (any language))
Mechanical aptitude, ability to (dis)assemble test fixtures
Ability to follow detailed work instructions
Ability to accurately document detailed test results
Ability to lift 30 lb (occasional lifting required)
Ability to learn quickly in fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or Certificate in a technical field
Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel)
Programming experience (C, Python, Matlab, Linux bash)
Understanding of hard drive operation within host environment
Electronics and instrumentation experience (accelerometers, data acquisition, basic circuit design)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) |
