BENDIX SPICER FOUNDATION BRAKE LLC, a joint venture of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Dana Corporation, is the single complete source for brake system research, design, manufacturing, hardware and support for all foundation brake components and actuation systems for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, buses and other commercial vehicles in North America and around the globe.
Product Focus: Air Disc Brake Product Line
The Product Manager is responsible for overall management of assigned products in the North American Market with possible linkages to the Global Marketplace. Will work with Marketing and the CoC Director to develop and implement the product strategy relative to new products, product extensions and managing obsolescence. Will manage the product line profitability by managing cross-functional Product Management Teams (PMT) as well as provide leadership to Program Managers for launch and Product Change activities under the product introduction process. Will work with the Business Unit Director and Marketing to draft the strategic plans and operating plans for the assigned product lines and present them to the Business Unit Director.
Market scope for the position includes original equipment manufacturers, the IAM and OES aftermarket channels.
Other Duties Include:
Driving supplier strategies with Supply Base Management
Product sourcing decisions
Profitability management through improved plant operating performance, product cost reductions and warranty reductions
Driving team cohesiveness in order to improve team performance and effectiveness
Developing and managing a strong working relationship with counterparts at Knorr-Bremse, including supporting the worldwide strategy for wheel end products
Knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems for commercial vehicles is preferred
Ability to lead by influencing and motivating others, providing direction and removing barriers
Ability to assimilate and utilize data quickly
Strong business negotiation skills
Strong customer orientation to enhance business relationships and growth
BS Engineering or Equivalent (Technology) degree required; prefer Masters or MBA
5-7 years minimum experience in Marketing, Product Line Management or Product Engineering
Product line or business unit management experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Remanufactured Brake Shoes market and operations a plus
Experience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market
