Job Description
Dematic Corp. has an immediate need for a Product Manager 3 at our Corporate Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI. This position will be responsible for the following duties:

Sales and Marketing support


Assist Marketing in the creation of collateral materials to create consistent message

Represent the product features, benefits, and overall portfolio overview for customer visits and sales calls

Host tech center tours as needed

Monitor competitor product offerings and maintain product comparison positions

Assist CS in creating retrofit upgrade packages, and migration plans for obsolete products

Participate in trade shows as needed

Operations support

Assist in the creation of product training tools

Assist Solutions group in defining standardized solutions with optimum product application

Advise Estimating and Sales on optimum product selection

Participate in the CAR process and ensure timely resolution of field issues related to products

Ensure timely integration of new products into the Engineering Tools and MRP system

Product Life cycle Management

Manage the tactical implementation of product obsolescence, coordinating across multiple departments

Solicit and collect regional product requirements and enhancement requests from all areas of the organization

Conduct user group feedback forums and visit customer sites to understand real-world issues related to products

Assess installed base opportunities for retrofit upgrades

Visit each field office at least once per year

Engage with the Market Development Directors and Solutions Development Managers to identify gaps in product portfolio

Attend at least one trade shows and one industry conference to observe identify industry trends and needs

Monitor model volume usage and estimate regional product forecast

Maintain benchmark installed costs for products and assess impact of product changes on total installed cost

Quantify cost of ownership impact of new products (maintenance effort, materials consumption, power consumption etc.)

Define Beta site requirements and coordinate with Sales to confirm Beta site implementation plans

Assist Global Product Manager in prioritization of product ideas

Participate in product release audits for M20, M60, and M80 milestones

Assist Global Product Manager in preparing MRD's and PRD's as needed

Requirements:

8-10 years experience in implementing products into systems

BA or equivalent

Sales and/or Estimating experience a plus

General Requirements

Assists in establishing pricing strategies, interacts with engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing products or product lines. Assists in leading new product definition and business plans with joint departments. Performs the completion of complex projects within unit. Defines projects, selecting sources and monitoring results. Assists in monitoring the development of business plans, managing life cycles, and product positioning in the marketplace. Completes the development of structured product marketing plans from broad concepts and business strategies. Completes market research, monitors competitive activity and identified customer needs.



Key Responsibilities:

Successfully defines work flows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness. Impact of decisions on business operations can have a moderate to high level of impact. May develop departmental budgets and business plans for functional area. May evaluate and recommend changes in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility. Identifies resource needs and may develop justification. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. May recommend/ determine organizational structures and supervisory relationships for own segment of company. May be responsible for overall success of function or project.



Education:

Typically Bachelors Degree or advanced degree.



Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations. Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.



Direction of Others:

Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower level exempt employees.
