Business Segment Overview First Data’s Global Product Management and Innovation division is responsible for directing the most extensive product portfolio in the payments industry. This organization is key to realizing First Data’s vision of shaping the future of global commerce by delivering the worlds most secure and innovative payment solutions. The team manages over 500 products across 28 categories for customers worldwide including; credit and debit card issuing and acquiring, STAR® PIN-debit Network, point of sale terminals and deployment services, gift card and loyalty solutions, TeleCheck® Electronic Check Acceptance Services, MoneyNetwork® payroll distribution, eCommerce and online banking solutions, and world-class security services like our new TransArmorsm STAR® CertiflashSM solutions.

The Global Product Management and Innovation team continually monitors customer needs, technology trends, and consumer spending habits to create an ongoing pipeline of new products and enhancements that make payments easier, safer, faster and more rewarding for merchants, financial institutions and their customers.

Job Description Providing business and technology leadership for the Prepaid suite of leading Open Loop products.


Develop and implement products and initiatives using New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle methodology and processes.

Support development of the roadmap for Prepaid applications and enhancing processes for interaction with various groups.

Partner with sales channels to develop go-to-market strategies and plans. Draft product communication and information, marketing collateral, competitive research, positioning, and branding. Manage internal and external product communication.

Colaborating with project and development teams to ensure on time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term supportability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.

Creating, reviewing and approving critical project gates/deliverables as required.

Identifying existing productivity issues and opportunities, developing methods and systems to improve these functions and managing their implementation.

Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) and liaison between the various organizational entities and building relationships with members of these organizations within the Prepaid area.


Continuously survey and analyze competitive and industry landscapes to identify risks, threats and opportunities.

Candidate Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience creating/supporting financial products (Open Loop Prepaid, ACH, Wires, Automated Settlement, Chargeback processing preferred)

Proven experience influencing a diverse team of experts, with and without a direct reporting relationship

Ability to understand business requirements, architecture, development and implementation using product development best practices.

A well developed and methodical decision making process is required.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and negotiate the best possible outcomes.

Very strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and team building skills are essential.

Must work well in a fast-paced, changing environment and be able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects, all with different priorities.

PDMA or similar certification preferred.
