GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position will be a key contributor to the development, implementation and growth of PolyOne’s global Specialty Inks and Polymer Systems (SIPS) business strategy. This position has leadership responsibility for the key product growth platform for the SIPS business.
Primary responsibilities include leading key product platform initiatives in the SIPS business segment related to both existing and developmental technologies. This position interfaces with the Commercial, Technology, and Manufacturing department teams and provides general product line support, reviews product line profitability, maintains appropriate product mix, drives raw material cost savings programs, new technology introductions, and customer support as required to achieve the overall SIPS product platform performance objectives.
This position also has direct and indirect interactions in support of the market development activities and strategies globally for all SIPS related products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for product mix, profitability, rationalization, branding, positioning to sales force, and pricing of global SIPS product line.
Assist in managing profitability (P&L) of SIPS product portfolios thru profit team management to attain annual plan objectives. Implement action plans throughout year in-line with plan including assisting sales team with pricing, managing profit team, reviewing raw material cost changes and implementing pricing actions as needed.
Responsible for training of global SPIS product lines
Responsible for regulatory compliance and positioning of product line and new product development.
Review custom product portfolios to determine translation into profitable stock products
Assist marketing in the development of appropriate sales kits and positioning literature to drive profitable growth of stock products in the sales force.
Provide product platform support as needed to assist the Commercial team efforts
Provide product platform assistance as needed in support of specification development for global accounts.
Assist in defining commercial opportunities for process improvement.
Help drive a data-driven, critical mindset in Product Management.
Employee must be willing to travel globally periodically.
Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Four years of college resulting in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred.
Prior knowledge and experience in strategic product management including management of global product lines.
Must have functional capability or exhibit capability to learn basic ERP, SAP and other data based systems
Ability to manage multple projects

Must be self-motivated
Must be a team player that values others
Required Length & Type of Experience:
3+ years of product management experience or equivalent
Preferr prior experience in inks, a demonstrated track record of successful product management including SKU rationalization and promotion to improve business performance.
