Overview:
The PM reports to the Director of Product Marketing, Laser Products. The PM is responsible for assisting in the development of strategic direction and daily product line management. Key responsibilities include involvement in the planning and execution of all product category pre-launch, launch and post launch projects and activities.

The position is also responsible for:

Product Launch Activities:

Assist in developing and managing the implementation of all category product launch activities. This includes:

Assisting in the development and execution of pre and post launch activities.
Update launch team on new competitive activities/sales trends that may assist in the development of launch activities.
Updating management as to the status of various product marketing activities regarding the launch process.


Daily Category Management and Materials Development:

Manage the development process for product category materials and activities including:

Create Top 10 Bullets
Advance Spec Sheet – approve and sign off
Catalogue Copy – approve and sign off
Cartons/Mylars
Brochures (2-sided/line-up guide/Spiral Guide/Huddles)
Print samples – develop/produce
Photography –Approve shot selection


Ask the product manager questions:

Responsible for responding in a timely and accurate manner to all product category inquiries.



GMM/Web initiatives:

Manage the development of product tours to be used globally by other GMM members. Ensure that product tour content visual appearance and design of the product tours meets the intentions and needs of the other members of the GMM. Make sure that product tour deadlines are met and the project is kept within budget.


Public Relations:

Help develop fact sheets, press releases and all supporting materials.
Handle media machine spec spreadsheet requests.
Write content for the weekly marketing update.


Market/Competitive Intelligence and Reporting:

Provide periodic management reports including monthly key activity, strategy, point of view, budgetary, sales forecasting and numerical analysis reporting. Ensure all required reports are completed on a timely basis.
Maintain competitive product analysis using the competitive matrix. This includes not only product specs but placement/discontinuation/price change information. Execute by checking competitor websites, reseller websites, and NPD reports. Must be accurate and updated in a timely manner.
OSS Sell through Reports – Prepare analysis of the OSS report and communicate findings.
SAP product sales tracking – Create reports from SAP and track individual product performance and identify potential problem areas. Assist management in developing strategies.
Financial Report – Administer monthly expense reporting.


Channel Support:

Assist in providing comprehensive marketing support to various distribution channel members. This includes training activities, webinars, collateral development/review support, competitive comparisons, special requests, and account visits as required.


Sales Support: Training/Events/Support Materials:

Assist in providing comprehensive marketing support to the sales force including training activities throughout the year. Participate in monthly consensus process. Coordinate and develop sales presentations to be used for Spring Training, webinar, special requests, and account visits as required. Support all special field sales requests for catalogs, competitive comparisons, application stories and competitive analysis as needed.

Qualifications:
BA or BS degree in Marketing or appropriate Business area related discipline, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3–5 years related experience with a minimum of 2 years experience in product marketing or a marketing related function.
Candidate should have effective customer interaction skills. Must be able to create and deliver customer presentations in an effective manner as well as be comfortable speaking to different audiences including end users, sales, channel, etc.
The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be proficient in using PowerPoint, Excel, Word and the Internet.
Proficient performing qualitative and quantitative analysis
2 – 3 years previous basic experience in forecasting and fiscally responsible budgeting. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
Should be a proactive, organized, self-starter, fast learner, able to work independently, keen attention to detail, possess strong follow-through abilities, a team player who works effectively with many constituencies, willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done and work extended business hours. Additionally, the candidate should be poised and be able to train others on our product line and product categories. Must be able to travel on short notice both domestically and globally.


Highly Desirable:
Experience with SAP, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Access, Adobe PhotoShop or Illustrator.
Experience in true product management and familiarity with hi-technology office.
Previous experience to marketing communications (advertising, PR, digital programs), channel programming and product development functions.
