Product Manager II - Tough Soils/Moisturizers

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Manages tough soils and moisturizers product category flowing into multiple market segments to meet the needs of targeted businesses across the enterprise. Determines product strategies and manages the marketing programs for those products.

Education and Experience Required

BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business or related fields. MBA preferred. Product Management/ Marketing experience is required for this job with five (5) to eight (8) years business experience preferably in marketing environment. Multiple market segment experience or commercial distribution experience, a plus. Basic computer/software skills.


Duties

Develops and executes long range and competitive strategy for the product(s) and systems.
Prepares annual marketing plan and sales forecasts.
Work with advertising, merchandizing, and communications agencies to develop positioning, campaigns, copy and programs.
Stimulate support of the product among the sales group and distributor network.
Support all market segment needs with category management.
Gather continuous intelligence on products' performance, competition, distributor and end user attitudes, new problems and opportunities.
Initiating Product improvements and changes to meeting changing market needs.
Develops and recommends marketing objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts for assigned product or products.
Analyzes market trends and potentials; prepares sales forecasts for use in planning manufacturing operations and for controlling inventories.
Develops methods for field testing manufacturing programs to determine public acceptance; evaluates the effectiveness of promotional and advertising programs; recommends improvements or changes.
Reviews complaints and suggestions relative to assigned product(s).
Recommends changes, improvements, or deletions to assigned product(s).
Directs market development, sales promotion, distribution, and pricing policies.
Participates in the preparation of advertising for assigned products and may oversee market research activities. Develops and suggests ideas for new products, as appropriate.
Development and implementation of annual marketing plan; budget management; product maintenance and rationalization; brand management operation; new product and system development and commercialization; communications; project management; regional program selection/support/implementation Is responsible for managing a profitable product portfolio, development and commercialization of new products, increasing product penetration into markets leading to long term growth and profitability and positioning of products by market segments; cGMP compliance
