Job Description | Product Manager needed for maximizing of assigned product performance through assistance with the development and implementation of marketing plans and strategies. Use input from Industry & Regional Marketing, strategic/key account management, and sales resources to develop 3 year product plans; competitive analysis, translate into annual business plans. Individual will assist the Product Manager in a variety of duties related to developing and implementing global strategies for the Line of Business (LOB) to achieve growth and profitability expectations.
Salary Range: $80-$90K
Education: BSEE, BSME, (or related technical), MBA strongly preferred
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Assist with identification, development, and launch of new product/service offerings.
Manage the assigned product line portfolio and ensure the development and implementation of product life-cycle strategies (development, pricing, extensions, rationalization, retirement).
Identify and validate new product and product improvement opportunities through Environment of Customer (EoC) and Voice of Customer (VoC).
Ensure that global needs are incorporated into the specifications for global products and that the products are developed and launched effectively.
Recommend effective channel strategies for assigned product lines, link with Line of Business (LOB) leadership and Sales Management to effectively execute strategies, and provide direction to the channel for best avenues to success.
Support LOB Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio through competitive IP scanning, IP maintenance activities related to assigned product lines, and recommendations for additional IP actions.
Conduct and respond to global competition market/product mix analyses.
Work with Marketing Communications to create and update product-oriented sales tools including spec sheets, catalogs, advertisements, trade show demos, web-site upgrades, training content, and case histories.
Ensure that sales forecasts and market trends are incorporated into Sales & Operating Plans (S&OP) demand planning.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with key customers and other relevant external constituencies.
Additional Qualifications:
Several years relevant experience in a manufacturing business a plus.
Demonstrated abilities to research materials from multiple sources, convert raw data into meaningful report.
Demonstrated ability to develop marketing strategies and plans that create sustainable competitive advantages.
Samples of technical writings and/or technical presentations.
Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills (practical understanding of the operational, financial, and marketing measures).
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with proven abilities to multi-task, work with deadlines.
Leadership role on designated project.
Self-confidence, ease with introducing ideas and concepts; gaining buy in from others; comfort with interaction at all levels.
Working knowledge of MS Office software programs
