SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position serves as a product/project manager to liaise between the key customers and the business unit. One of the primary functions will be to top line revenue growth through new and existing customer base with new products opportunities. Another primary functions is to address all customer technical and commercial concerns and project requirements and translate and coordinate those needs to Quality Control, Development, Quality Assurance (QA) and Production for fulfillment consistent with business unit goals. The position will also be responsible for sales directly related to their product responsibilities including contract negotiations, profitability analysis and commercial viability. The Product Manager must have knowledge in all phases of regulatory compliance both in the US and Europe. All work will be performed in compliance with federal, state, local and company policies and regulations, including FDA, CGMP, DEA, DOT, GAAP, EPA, NJDEP, OSHA and European Regulatory Authorities.


BACKGROUND
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with five to seven years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry and with three or more years required within a sales capacity. A solid background in the following areas are strongly preferred:

Process development (scale-up and product introduction from lab scale through to commercial production scale)
Analytical techniques including GC/MS, HPLC, IR and NMR are needed.
Injectable and oral dosage formulation
Customer/technical project management
Quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry

Strong commercial, technical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills are required. The incumbent will be required to meet and communicate with customers both verbally and in written form in order to solve customer commercial and technical problems, and determine technical/market requirements. Must be able to manage multiple, parallel projects. The incumbent must be able to organize and prioritize various customer technical concerns and communicate these issues within the Pharmaceutical organization. A working knowledge of CGMP and drug product manufacturing and regulatory filings is necessary, as well as analytical laboratory methodologies used in the testing and evaluation of pharmaceutical bulk actives. A working knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry is also expected.
