Position Summary



The Product Manager has significant ability to influence all areas of their assigned category. This key position has the responsibility for developing and overseeing the strategic direction of the assigned category portfolio for the mobile and industrial channels. The incumbent operates with significant autonomy to create the vision and strategy for their product line. Responsibilities include new product development, product sourcing, product quality, pricing, and all category promotional activities. This leader will serve as the subject expert on all matters related to the category, including performance analytics and competitive intelligence within the marketplace. The Product Manger interacts with engineers, quality professionals, sales and other internal team members; all with the purpose of creating industry leading impressions within the trade.



Essential Job Functions



? Sets the strategic direction for the assigned category. Measured on results against sales plan, margin rate plan, new product performance, SKU management, and inventory parameters.

? Develop the strategic plan for the product portfolio.

? Provides direction and coaching to engineers, quality, and other key support areas.

? Takes the leadership role on SKU development initiatives.

? Initiates and participates in SKU sourcing.

? Leads product design project teams.

? Oversees product testing and analysis.

? Develops field communication strategies to inform customers about product and industry insights.

? Participates in line reviews and manages vendor relationships.

? Develops strategic promotions to optimize volume and profitability opportunities.

? Serves as the in-house subject expert on the portfolio and acquires extensive knowledge of the competitive marketplace.

? Performs SKU rationalization and ensures effective pricing strategies.

? Provides sales training and product knowledge materials to sales team and distributors.



Essential Skills & Experience

Solid understanding and use of software and analytics to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data.
Expert in developing reporting tools to streamline day to day work.
Critical thinking and problem solving ability: synthesize findings from analysis and draw conclusions.
Skilled in problem resolution and providing best practices solutions.
Effective at performing detail oriented tasks, and data analysis.
Able to identify, manage, and lead business improvement projects.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to manage across functions at various levels.
Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
Self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed and motivate others.


Preferred Skills & Experience
