Gartner Greetings is a young and exciting greeting card company that is growing very fast in terms of product and resources. Our personnel are our most valuable resource and we are looking to add to our Product Management team, an integral department within Gartner Greetings.

Supported by our parent company (Gartner Studios located in Stillwater, MN); Gartner Greetings mission is to offer its customers superior design and value within the social expression industry. Our product lines consist of everyday and seasonal greeting cards, boxed cards, gift bags and stationery. This position is located in our Lincoln, RI Marketing and DesignCenter.

Our Product Manager will be a strong relationship builder who is process oriented, analytical and organized. We seek a self starter having direct experience with product development processes and some manufacturing and sourcing experience. You must have the ability to travel overseas for periods of time



The Position:



This position requires strategic, long term and creative thinking and is responsible for the ongoing management and execution of the assigned business categories to ensure delivery of sales, profit and retail performance goals. This is done primarily through the development and management of complete product program plans and related model lines.



The product management function plays a key role in product and program development from concept to in-store execution. This includes workflow management of sales presentation needs, mock-up requests, working closely on project and timelines with the design team and art production areas. Profitability and accuracy of programs is the responsibility of the product manager, working with sourcing, supply chain and sales counterparts.



Accountabilities:



Everyday and Seasonal Cards Model Line Management



Development and on going management of model line plan recommendations based on wholesale and retail data analysis.
Organize and analyze large volumes of data into useful information and conclusions.
Consider both customer and consumer needs and influence the line to satisfy these needs.
Work closely with Director of Creative and Editorial to keep product lines/programs on time and within specific cost targets.
Manage the ongoing refresh and replace strategy to ensure product lines maintain freshness at retail while working closely with ops and forecasting to ensure margin and inventory turnover targets can be hit.
Work with EVP Marketing to collaborate with key retail partners to develop product lines and programs to support their business needs
Ancillary Product Lines:



Overall product direction, vision and planning for ancillary product lines and customer specific programs.
Creation of line lists to communicate and track program status.
P&L analysis, costing and pricing to customer
New product specifications.
Works with in-house design team, and outside designers to create new products and programs.
Works directly with sourcing / HK merchandiser to achieve costing goals, product quality and to meet production timelines.

Secondary Accountabilities:



Independently manage entire program from start to finish
Maintain information and update line lists on an ongoing basis
Ensure samples are sent, testing is complete and products pass testing requirements
Negotiate pricing to meet P&L requirements
Ability to collaborate with the design team to ensure successful and timely execution of programs
Work with supply chain/HK office to ensure timelines are being met and communication is clear on the expectations
Initiating RFQ’s for initial pricing and finalizing spec sheets for production
Support sales function with account presentation and sales material to support the product and marketing plans.
All other duties as assigned

Key Requirements:



Bachelors Degree
4+ years of product development / product marketing experience
Microsoft Office
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
Printing industry experience and knowledge of design process
Business to business experience needed, stationery experience preferred
Must be self directed, highly motivated, professional, aggressive in pursuit of goals and energetic
Familiar with pricing, promotion, and working with distributors and/or dealers
Flexibility--ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
