Job Description | Job Purpose
The Senior Product Manager position is accountable for developing the strategic product direction and supporting tactical roadmaps for mission critical products needed to support their portfolio mix of Fiserv’s revenue stream and resultant product profitability. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of industry trends, potential market opportunities and Fiserv’s Core Strategic Vision in order to ensure appropriate convergence. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager has the responsibility for developing business/ product plans, creating revenue/performance projections, outlining pricing and marketing plans. Assignments are broad in nature with a high degree of complexity requiring significant conceptualization and initiative.
Job Responsibilities·
· Develop strategic vision and tactical product roadmaps for assigned Fiserv products.
· Develop business plans, marketing strategy, pricing strategy, financial and transaction based forecasts for assigned products in order to support their portfolio mix of Fiserv’s revenue stream and resultant product profitability.
· Create product and business requirements based on market analysis, business strategy and customer needs in the aligned marketplace.
· Maintain current status of customer requirements for existing and future products.
· Validate and prioritize requirements including defining benefits and impacts of releases across the organization and for clients.
· Assist in sales, pre-sales, and consulting services activities for assigned products.
· Identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with assigned product objectives.
· Consult with Product Marketing to develop launch plans, define marketing requirements and ensure key product collateral exists, such as Product Guides, sales presentations, demo scripts, flash demos, feature comparisons, etc.
· Serve as the subject matter expert on his/her assigned product.
· Represent Fiserv at tradeshows, conferences, and speaking opportunities.
· Work closely with UX, Design, Product Delivery and Development to ensure requirements are interpreted correctly in detailed design specifications and in the construction of the product assigned.
· Monitor product usage to observe trends to make data driven decisions for enhancements, new features and products.
· Create business cases with costs/benefits analysis.
· Promote the Fiserv vision, mission, culture of achievement, and strategic goals.
· May have lead responsibility over others.
Job Requirements
Education Required
BS/BA required
Experience Required
7+ years of product management/marketing, software industry or other transferable experience.
· Experience and interest in business analyst activities, particularly software functional design and analysis·
· Experience and interest in more typical Sr. Product Manager activities, such as market strategy and product/business planning.
Skills and Knowledge Required
· Advanced product life cycle management and management skills.
· Knowledge of financial services and technology industry products and practices.
· Well developed negotiation and decision-making skills.
· Entrepreneurial attitude with leadership skills to leverage matrix organizations
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to concisely communicate key issues/results in a manner appropriate to the audience, including the executive level.
· Ability to build relationships with and influence other functional areas as well as external entities.
· Discretion and impact of decisions: Makes key decisions that impact operational inititiaves. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delays in schedules and may jeopardize overall business activities.
· Organization and time management skills: Operates independently with minimal guidance by management.
· Accountability: Self directed.
· Strong technical understanding of eCommerce/Internet technologies.
· Travel 0 – 20%
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements
Familiarity with Product Development & Management Body of Knowledge (pdma BOK), a plus.
