Job Description
This is a Full Time, Regular Employee position located in Ann Arbor.
Ultra Electronics, AMI is Product Manager–Unmanned Systems to join our team as a key contributor in taking our proven technology to the military and commercial marketplaces. This position will report to the Vice President of Business Development. This position will define and execute on the business development goals and execution requirements of Ultra Electronics, AMI’s overall business strategy to develop and sell power sources for use in unmanned systems applications. This position will gather technology and demand requirements from key contacts, program managers, and other responsible individuals within the U.S. military, U.S. Department of Defense acquisition organizations, and other relevant agencies internationally and promote AMI’s power solutions to applicable entities in the military and commercial marketplaces.

•Responsible for the AMI Unmanned Systems business segment, understanding military and civilian market sectors for power systems.

•Facilitates and builds strategic relationships between AMI and key government stakeholders and non-military (aerospace and defense industry) contacts.

•Grows unmanned systems business segments, with responsibility for annual revenue targets.

•Ensures alignment between AMI and customers’ agendas.

•Identifies and fosters potential opportunities outside military sectors.

•Identifies and develops contract proposals based on the needs of the end user and AMI’s solutions.

•Interfaces closely with engineering leaders to generate plans and budgets for new programs.

•Provides support to the business development team to develop sales tools, training tools, promotional material, and marketing support.

•Provides input to AMI’s technology roadmap to ensure we are positioned favorably to win opportunities to develop solutions to support the war fighter and emerging customer groups.

•Serves as the voice of the customer to AMI: Translates customer needs to measureable AMI engineering solutions. Recommends future research and development initiatives for specific applications that support the development of fuel cell systems for unmanned applications. Takes active role in guiding internal development programs to ensure alignment with business.

•This position will require regular overnight travel, approximately 50% of the time. Some travel will consist of product demonstrations and customer-site testing with military and non-military customers.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and related professional work experience is required. Master's degree in business, public policy, or related field is desirable. 5+ years experience working within the U.S. military or for a prime government contractor, preferably in the areas of customer and account management, is required. Previous experience with engineering product development of a military product is preferred. Well established contacts within the following government agencies is preferred: Office of Secretary of Defense, Department of the Army, TACOM, TARDEC, and Army Research Laboratory. Working knowledge of military industry and standards for product delivery. Proven track record of successful product growth within the military sector. Current Secret-level security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance is required. Former military service is desirable.
