INVISTA is currently seeking a Production Engineer to join our team in Waynesboro, VA. We are looking for candidates who have the following attributes:
Ability to organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines.
Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and proven success in communicating effectively with all levels.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and re-enforce Operating practices and Operating Disciple for Operations Personnel.
Act as a mentor and knowledge resource to Operators and Supervisors.
Work with Technical resources to identify and troubleshoot process problems and close production gaps.
Assure adherence to existing productions systems and identify opportunities to improve.
Work with operations and technical to maintain targeted, optimum performance.
Focus Spandex Polymer Process operations efforts on continuous improvement and systems maintenance.
Provide support to Polymer, specifically for line start-ups, transitions, product development, process control, quality support, and process problems.
Provide training (technical and operations focus) that provides continuity across shifts.
Work with technical to transition process improvements into operating standard practices.
Develop Polymer/Recovery ‘Best Practices’. Communicate with Global peers and Corporate Technical resources to leverage learning’s.
Act as a change agent in implements productivity or efficiency improvements.
Seek opportunities to eliminate waste – reduce ingredients loss and energy consumption.
Focus on waste of operations work time, workload, and non valued added tasks.
Utilize and analyze data and existing information to meet business needs for insight into operating performance and practices.
Analyze operating incidents and other operational data to identify opportunities to be solved internally or through other functional resources.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Intermediate experience with PC-based applications (MS-Word-document creation/editing, Excel-spreadsheet creation/editing, data entry and analysis, and PowerPoint-presentation creation/editing).
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Polymerization and Distillation processes.
5 +years of Manufacturing experience.
Understanding of Polymer and Distillation processes either through technical education or practical background.
