Job Description
Ensure that employees are properly trained in the areas of plastic injection molding techniques, equipment operation, quality policy, safety, housekeeping, and interpersonal skills to perform their duties.


Job Responsibilities
Primary duties:
•Coordinate day to day activities to maintain scheduled production requirements
•Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories
•Ensure safety of employees
•Maintain quality standards
Secondary duties:
•Interface with technical and support staff to ensure proper operation of the area
•Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating budget
•Implement lean manufacturing techniques to support process improvements, inventory reduction, and overall operating efficiencies within the area


Job Requirements
Knowledge/Experience:
•Strong candidates must possess a strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes
•5 to 7 years manufacturing experience in a medium to high volume plastic injection molding environment is preferred
•Ability to troubleshoot injection molding process issues
•Experience with Cincinnati and Van Doren injection molding machines is a plus
•Experience processing Polypropylene, ABS, Nylon, and PVC plastics is also a plus
•Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred

Skills and Abilities:
•Proven leadership capabilities
•Background in plastic injection molding
•Possess a basic understanding of Process Control, Production Scheduling, Kanban, and Lean Manufacturing
•Ability to interpret piece part drawings and possess an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
•Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
•Possess strong oral and written communication skills

Education:
•Prefer a Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical area
•Minimum of two year Associate Degree or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements:
•Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
