Job Description | Description: Overview: This position is responsible for ensuring jobs/projecResponsible for production to run smoothly and to meet all production delivery and quality
requirements. Perform all contract management functions on a day to day basis.
Accountabilities: Accountable to maintain production schedule and budget and continuously improve
manufacturing capability, reduce costs, improve efficiencies. To ensure best quality, price and delivery
from vendors while controlling risk of vendor failures and maintaining backup plans. To manage release
of work to the floor, control WIP, and work levels. Adjust schedules and work load to meet additional or
reduced demands.
Authority:Authority to make schedule changes, human resource decisions to ensure that production
schedules are met. Large purchases require supervisory approval.
Environment: Typical office environment with shop floor and vendor exposure. Frequently working at
manufacturing location in Merrill, Michigan with additional time spent at assembly facility and vendors.
Physical Demands: Physical stress is minimal. Mental stress is moderate to high due to the potential
impact this position has on customer satisfaction and future business.
Duties: Oversees production, manufacturing engineering, assembly and supply chain
management activities.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business (Mechanical Preferred).
Skills: Leadership, communication, organizational, motivational, and business accounting skills. Strong
experience in expediting, planning, problem solving and executing plans. Facilities layout. Strong
computer skills including Excel, Word, Visio, Project, etc. Able to track programs through Encompix.
Experience: Solid knowledge of manufacturing systems, product launch, supplier development,
inspection, and continuous improvement. Engineering background and process development. Leadership roles. Experience managing employees and complex manufacturing tasks with short deadlines in a highly compressed delivery schedule. Solid knowledge of industry specific requirements, standards and specifications.
Personal Qualities: Strong communication skills, exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Able to write plans and reports. Team player, confident, motivated and trustworthy. Able to manage
deadlines and multitask.
Preferences: Masters in Business or Engineering. Five years managing 10+ employees in a production
environment. Product launch experience. |
