Pressure sensitive materials applications include label products, graphics and technical products. Purpose of this role:

To support execution of the Milprint business plan by executing assigned engineering projects and assisting Engineering Project Managers as directed to complete major engineering projects.

1) Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. This includes ensuring all project work is completed in accordance with Milprint safety policies.

2) Determines customer's needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Develop and evaluate alternate solutions to narrow down and define project scope.

3) Participates in Project Teams, facilitates and documents Project team meetings as directed.

4) Estimates cost necessary to accomplish scope with some guidance from others.

5) Develops and communicates project schedule with some guidance from others.

6)Develops, prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project. This includes designs, calculations, layouts, schematics, manuals, bid specifications, etc. Secures feedback from more senior engineering department employees to ensure that all project work is done in accordance with local and state building codes, NFPA guidelines, FM Global guidelines, NEC and any OSHA requirements. Secures and obtains training to become fluent in the above guidelines.

7) Provides the purchasing services for project materials required. This includes reviewing potential vendors, contacts with vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, some price negotiation, and expediting delivery.

8) Manages project costs, project scheduling and supplying pertinent communication for projects that may vary in terms of scope and responsibilities.

9) Communicates all appropriate information in a timely manner and fashion to the necessary people within and outside the organization.

10) Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to insure that equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specification

11) Coordinates or assists with installation, checkout, start-up and training as necessary.

12) Secures and maintains knowledge of current industry practices as they may apply to Bemis products and equipment.

Education & Experience Required

A BSEE or BSME degree or equivalent.

3-5 years of experience with Bemis or similar flexible packaging engineering projects with above average performance reviews.

Previous job experience requires flexible packaging exposure.

Skills & Abilities Needed


Strong communication and team skills necessary in working with equipment suppliers, contractors and in sharing project information with internal departments.

Basic knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft software, including Word, Excel and Project. Capable of using AutoCAD and any required electrical programming software.

Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively contribute to executing projects.

Knowledge of engineering concepts and practices as they relate to Bemis Flexible
Packaging manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with suppliers and supplier's equipment and how it fits Bemis' requirements.

Understanding of the physical characteristics of the raw materials used by Bemis.
