Basic Job Functions:
Project lead for design of new equipment or modification of existing equipment to support high volume manufacturing of thin film photovoltaic (PV) modules.
Implementation of design changes to support in-line process control & monitoring improvements throughout product line.
Initiate engineering changes to reduce equipment cost for future product line expansion.
Technical lead and primary interface with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
Experience:
BS degree with 8 years of experience OR MS degree with 6 years of experience OR PhD with 4 years of experience
Education:
Bachelor Degree required in Chemical Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or a similar technical discipline preferred; Master Degree or PhD preferred
Required Skills:
Behavioral
Ability to lead a technical project from concept through design and in to production.
Project Engineering skills related to schedule, budget and equipment supplier interface.
Basic knowledge of mechanical design and machine automation.
Experience in Semiconductor coating equipment, wet processes, automation, and/or high vacuum systems a plus.
Technical
Excellent computer skills with CAD related experience (a plus).
Strong written and verbal communications skills to ensure effective participation with cross functional teams.
Proven knowledge of Engineering Principals and Practices.
Knowledge of Manufacturing processes.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Interface and provide technical direction to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for compliance to technical specifications of automated equipment.
Responsible for the development of projectplans, schedules and budgets for design of new equipment or modification to existing equipment.
Generate technical specifications for related equipment.
Conduct design reviews of proposed engineering designs to other technical professionals within Development Engineering group and Senior Management.
Responsible for equipment supplier demonstration, factory installation, equipment start-up, training, and company acceptance of equipment.
Ability to supervise/mentor members of the Development Engineering team. |
