We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Flat Glass Central Engineering team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Our Engineering team builds new production facilities, installs new manufacturing processes, and rebuilds existing facilities to support our glass related markets around the world. We hire top-notch people and are committed to their development. As a key member of our engineering team, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical utilities of a Greenfield factory in an international location yet to be determined. The ideal candidate will have a broad mix of skills and experience. In addition to a strong work ethic and integrity, the successful candidate should have some experience with and/or knowledge of, and must be prepared to excel in the following areas of responsibility:
Preparation of specifications and drawings.
Equipment and contractor selections.
Supervision of equipment and contractor installations and schedules.
Candidates should be eager to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, non-bureaucratic environment.
Job Requirements :
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a must.
Must be adventurous, responsible, competitive, independent and hard working.
Must have the ability to work on complex projects; be able to analyze problems quickly, and develop corrective actions.
Able to work effectively and communicate across multiple levels.
Must be detail-oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to work independently, with little supervision
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD
NOTE: This position will require relocation overseas for a 1 – 2 year assignment, when not overseas you must be willing to travel 30% of the time. The position is based in our Auburn Hills, Michigan facility.
