Project Engineer

Job Description

Completes a broad range of moderately complex projects (design through implementation). Projects include new equipment procurement and installation; facility upgrades; equipment enhancement; new product design & development through the New Product Development process; sales support, training support, process improvement activities, etc. Projects may be stand-alone projects or portions of a larger project with the larger project being managed by others. Participates in facilities continuous improvement & cost savings initiatives.

General Responsibilities:

Project management Responsibilities - Developing project scope and objectives; developing/management of budget and schedules; direct and support project team; identifying and managing project risk and issues; and communication to stakeholders (status, metrics, etc.)

Communication of project status/metrics to all stakeholders

Troubleshoot and provide support to other departments (Sales, etc.)

Design & development of new products through New Product Development process


Strong interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge of product & process design techniques (APQP, Flow Charts, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, ISO, etc.)

Fundamental knowledge of machine design and operating principles

Knowledge of machine repair and trouble shooting practices

Strong problem solving and organizational skills, self-motivator

Knowledge of computer based software (I.e, CAD, PLC) desired

Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

4-7 years related experience

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
