With headquarters in Canton, Ohio, we operate steelmaking centers in Canton and Lorain, Ohio, and value-added rolling and finishing facilities in Canton, Lorain and Massillon, Ohio; Lackawanna, N.Y.; Gary, Indiana; and Hamilton, Ontario.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our Canton, Ohio facility. This position will be responsible for justifying, planning, developing, and implementing capital projects to meet short and long range business plans.
Job Requirements:
Identifying project scope; conducting cost / benefit analysis
Developing and submitting CEA (capital expenditure request)
Developing specs, recommending vendors and requisition parts for project(s)
Participating in developing contract guarantees, deliveries and performance requirements
Conducting pre-bid meetings, reviewing construction bids, and recommending contractors to Purchasing for capital projects
Managing projects: overseeing all construction scheduling; assuring quality and monitoring performance
Coordinating a variety of corporate disciplines on a project
Managing capital project budget: approving expenses, preparing status reports for management
Serving as a technical advisor, providing engineering assistance as needed
Assisting with the development of business plans; identifying process improvement / upgrades
Maintaining and cataloging all engineering records and drawings
Managing multi discipline engineering and construction projects
Maintaining records of all project meetings and correspondence with contractors and suppliers on capital projects
Assuring compliance with all company policies
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements
Organizational skills and multi tasking
In-depth engineering skills (B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
In-depth interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to effectively relate to all types of people
Written and oral communication skills: demonstrated ability to communicate at all organizational levels
Broad general business know-how
Broad general understanding of codes / regulations (Building, Construction, OSHA and EPA)
Negotiating skills

Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, basic AutoCAD, some PLC programming
