Position Overview/Summary:
Operates with a high level of expertise to plan, facilitate and coordinate the order execution process for engineering studies, revamp projects, and/or production of new equipment, to ensure that client orders are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters. The value of projects managed by this function routinely exceeds $10 million annually.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in engineering
5 years previous experience
Able and willing to travel up to 25%
Must possess a high level of problem solving skills
Must possess comprehensive knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures, and schedule management tools (i.e. MS Project or equivalent)
Knowledge of diversified products and processes
Well developed leadership skills
The ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action or decision
Proficient in application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Word and Excel required, MS Access beneficial)
Must possess negotiation skills and commercial experience for management of contract scope changes directly with client
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must possess influence skills to deal effectively with D-R matrix reporting structure
Preferred:
MBA degree
Professional project management certification (e.g. PMP by PMI)
Product design and/or application knowledge/experience with centrifugal and/or reciprocating compressors, gas and/or steam turbines
Commercial experience with sales proposals and contract terms and conditions
Experience dealing directly with end customers
Working knowledge of API standards
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Manages the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned client orders for the supply of compressors, gas and steam turbines, and related control systems for, primarily, the oil and gas industry to ensure successful project execution from order entry through the warranty
period
Participates in the order capture process by providing master schedule input
Facilitates numerous meetings with clients and company personnel during the order execution process
This may require travel (up to 25%, typically) to client locations worldwide on an annual basis
Monitors and maintains the master project schedule, initiating and facilitating corrective action to maintain delivery and cost objectives
Acts as company focal point for all communications, questions and issues requiring action on assigned projects
Works with and monitors other company functions in a matrix reporting relationship to ensure compliance with all client and company requirements
Participates in project review and shipment meetings with company management
Elevates barriers to successful project execution as necessary
