Job Description | Job description: The Project Manager (PM) is the Single Point of Commercial Contact (SPOCC), internally and externally for Metso Power Projects.
1. The PM is responsible for everything pertaining to his/her project and ensures that:
o All necessary decisions are made and actions taken in a timely manner-consistent with Metso Power core values, policies and procedures and approval levels.
o The PM promotes teamwork and a positive project working environment within the group, including Metso Power Oy (Finland), or Metso Power AB (Sweden) for Shared Projects.
o Ultimately the PM is responsible for the Project’s HSE quality, technical and commercial progress, results and compliance with contract requirements.
2. Project Execution
o Prepare the Project Execution Plan (PEP) document
o Conduct internal and external alignment kick-off meetings, including the other Metso Power partners & customer
o Ensure a seamless transition from the Proposal/Negotiation Phases through an orderly project kick-off
o Administer the schedule and performance liquidated damages (LD) and incentive requirements
o Provide direction to Project Engineers, scheduling, cost control, document control and Engineering Managers
o Implement PEM in Power on the project , if required
o Participate in required PEM gate reviews, if required
o Administer the Project Risk Register and Risk Dashboard
o Responsible for the project by ensuring performance, schedule and budget compliance
o Process all contract revisions & maintain customer plus/minus list
3. Supply Management
o Define project scope, schedule and requirements for Purchasing
o Assist in the preparation, review and approval of requisitions
o Work with Purchasing to assure favorable and cost effective procurements considering project requirements and bulk buying
o Participate in Bid Evaluations and the selection of vendors/suppliers prior to issuance of the Purchase Order. Final sign-off required on all purchase orders
4. Administer, control and approve internal and external Contract Change Orders
Reporting
o Prepare internal and external Project Status and Financial Reports.
o Write and publish Monthly Reports for the customer
o Participate in Project Review Meetings
5. Commercial
o Ensure Customer payments to Metso per contract requirements
o Ensure Metso payments to vendors per contract requirements
6. Project Close Out and Warranty
o Administer contract erection assistance requirements
o Administer commissioning and performance testing requirements
o Monitor warranty phase compliance
o Administer Lessons learned sessions with the customer and the Metso project team
o Publish final job report including project lessons learned
o Close out any back charges
o Resolution of any contractual obligations
Requirements: Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
Skills:
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
