Job Description | Alector LLC (alector.com) is a venture funded, early stage neuroscience biotech startup located in the San Francisco Mission Bay. We combine state-of-the-art antibody technology, through a strategic alliance with Adimab, with recent discoveries in human genetics to develop novel therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease, and mechanistically related disorders. Alector was founded by successful biotech entrepreneurs: Arnon Rosenthal PhD (Genentech Executive Researcher for 16 years, Co-Founder, CSO & President of Rinat Neuroscience, acquired by Pfizer in 2006), Asa Abeliovich MD/PhD (Associate Professor at the Taub Institute for the Aging Brain at Columbia University and Neurologist), Tillman Gerngross PhD (Professor of Bioengineering, Dartmouth College, Co-Founder & CEO, Adimab; Co-Founder & CSO, GlycoFi, acquired by Merck in 2006; Co-Founder & Director, Arsanis and Avitide) and Errik Anderson (Co-Founder, COO and Director, Adimab; Co-Founder & Director, Arsanis and Avitide).
We are looking for multiple, exceptional scientist/senior scientist level investigators with a PhD and/or MD and an outstanding publication record. The successful candidates will play leading roles in the discovery and development of novel disease modifying drugs for major, currently incurable, disorders.
Protein Biochemistry Scientist: The candidate should have broad experience in protein purification and characterization, Chromatography methods (ion exchange, size exclusion, affinity), and general protein assays, as well as a broad understanding of methodologies surrounding protein interactions including Biacore and ForteBio assays. The candidate will benefit from proficiency in molecular and cell biology, and from familiarity with antibody engineering technologies, protein expression, structural and computational methods. Previous experience with antibody therapeutics would also be advantageous. |
