Quality Assurance Supervisor

Job Description
Under general direction of IT Manager - Quality Testing Services, responsible for supervising and directing a team of QA professionals in order to deliver high quality business application solutions. Set the goals and direction of the team in order to achieve division objectives. Provide focused activities, tasks and expert mentorship to the team. Through coaching and goal setting, develop associates. Set performance objectives and metrics to measure associate performance. Create and manage team's budget to maintain fiscal responsibility. Stay informed of technical trends and make recommendations for process, tool or environments as needed. Effectively communicate with the team, the business units and all levels of management.

Preferred Experience and Skills

3-5 years experience leading a QA team in a software development environment

Advanced understanding of structured development methodology, including waterfall, iterative and agile, and how to integrate QA efforts into those individual methodologies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail with strong documentation and coordination practices

Skilled at motivating and mentoring direct reports

Insurance industry knowledge; preferably property and casualty insurance

Preferred Education and Training

Bachelorís Degree, equivalent experience

Supervisory and/or management training

Completion of Intro to Insurance course
