Job Description | Quality Assurance/Quality Control/Quality Lab - Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas -
The Quality Engineer works with cross functional teams to conduct root cause analysis of internal and external non-conformances and trending of available process data for identification of improvement opportunities. The Quality Engineer also plays a significant role in remediation of customer complaint trends and related issues that create opportunities for improvements (CI) throughout the site.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform root cause analysis to selection and implementation of corrective actions through verification of effectiveness.
Identifies and implements improvements in quality, complaint and waste reduction via a corrective and preventive action (CAPA) system.
Works closely with production to resolve problems.
Utilizes statistical analysis with all validation activities per the Master Validation Plan.
Leads plant in customer, IS, and supplier audits.
Supports new product and line launches by working with Engineering and Product Development.
Participates in and supports Kaizen events, 5S and Lean Six Sigma activities.
Drives Quality Improvement through Risk Mitigation with pFMEA, Control Plans, Etc.
Corresponds with customers and suppliers to resolve problems
May Supervise Quality Lab Technicians
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred), or Sciences.
Prefer minimum of 3 years experience in quality in a manufacturing environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in the Medical, Pharmaceutical or Flexible Packaging industries as a Quality Engineer.
Prior supervisory experience desired.
Strong communication skills required to address all levels within the organization.
Proven track record of leading teams to drive improvements.
Able to work hands-on and assist Production with problem resolution.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Project, Minitab)
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Certified Quality Engineer through ASQ beneficial.
Previous experience in process engineering and/or process control preferred.
Flexibility to work occasional off-shifts and weekends.
Knowledge of current safety standards and practices and a firm commitment to maintain and enhance them.
