SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs champion product quality and continuous improvement. The Quality Engineer works to ensure the quality of new product designs. The individual will define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
The Quality Engineer works to ensure the quality of current products and processes both internally and externally to the company. Investigates product related problems to determine root cause. Works with Engineering and other personnel to develop and implement solutions. Participates in the development, maintenance, and improvement of processes throughout the company. Works closely with Project Engineers to develop test equipment, processes and metrology methods necessary to verify conformity of products. The individual will develop data collection and acquisition methods and develop statistical analysis techniques leading to problem identification and resolution. The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
Specific responsibilities include:
*Plan, conduct, and document validation testing in support of new product development and design changes to existing product.
*Investigate product and component failures (internal and external) to determine root cause.
*Work with Engineering and other departments to develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence of investigated failures.
*Participate in new product development processes to identify preventative actions based on current product experience.
*Review new and existing test methods to determine appropriateness (accuracy and precision) for Company use. Make improvements where appropriate.
*Review requirements of published standards to determine Company product compliance.
*Participate in internal and supplier quality audit program, corrective/preventive action system, and other business processes, as requested.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
*Associate degree in electronics (Bachelor's preferred), software, or quality combined with 10+ years experience in electronics or software manufacturing environment or related field.
*Familiar with ISO9001 industry standards.
*Accomplished user of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
*Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
*Ability to write clear instructions and reports.
*Experience with the use of small hand and power tools, soldering, and similar skills.
*Ability with process mapping, design of experiments, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and other quality tools and techniques.
*Action oriented with a bias for corrective and preventive actions.
*Clear communication skills (written and oral).
Desired Qualifications:
*BS or related four year degree in electronics, software development, or quality, combined with 5+ years experience in electronics or software manufacturing environment or related field.
*Familiar with ISO13485, FDA Quality System Regulation.
*ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred. CQSE and CQRE are also acceptable.
