Quality Engineer

Job Description
Desired Education/Experience/Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field (Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Processes, etc.)
· Six Sigma training, black belt or green belt, ISO 9000, 14000, 14001, TS16949.
· SAP experience is a plus
· Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, SAP, Microsoft Office and any other related software.
· 3-5 years of experience in related field (Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Processes, etc.)
· Die casting and automotive is a plus.

Responsibilities:
Monitors and participates in the improvement of quality systems that pertain to pertinent areas of expertise and job responsibility. Responsible for APQP on programs that are assigned. Must be knowledgeable in all customer program requirements and quality assurance processes related to specific job responsibilities.
· Review and disposition casting defects to ensure that all potential failures created by internal processes are adequately controlled to ensure that the customer will not receive non-conforming product.
· Facilitate review and development of the internal non-conforming process, and facilitate effective containment to ensure defective material does not reach the customer.
· Apply 8D problem solving methodology to Facilitate/approve all root cause analysis ensuring that effective corrective actions are made.
· Determine failure mode and identify gaps in our quality system.
· Develop operator work instructions and illustrations pertaining to inspection (including gaging needs.)
· Maintain positive relationships with customers (internal and external) through visitation programs, prompt attention to complaints and assuring the shipment of quality parts.
· Maintain and establish quality metrics to be presented with management.
