| Job Description | Orchid Orthopedics located in Southfield MI is in search of a Quality Manager. The Quality Control Manager plans, coordinates and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications in compliance with ISO 13485 standards: Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to customer requirements
Ensure compliance to FDA and ISO requirements
Support engineering and manufacturing with procedures, processes and quality engineering tools
Hire, train, evaluate and discharge quality department staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap monitor scrap and rework data.
Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
Support production and manage risk to the customer
Collect and summarize data on quality performance measures
Maintain the calibration of all measurement equipment.
Qualifications
High level of critical thinking and problem solving aptitude
Excellent time management and organization skills. Urgency, energy and follow-up on assignments is a must.
Proficient in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), blue print reading and use of all inspection tools.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Process improvement logic
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point (spread sheets, charting, data analysis)
Experience/Education
Experience And Education: Bachelors Degree; 5 -10 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment; Engineering knowledge and experience . Prior supervisory/management experience coupled with strong leadership capabilities. ASQ certified a plus. |
