The Science and Technology Center now has a staff of over 100, up from just a handful in 2000. The ongoing performance of the Center is critical to Guardian’s continued success.
We are currently looking for an experienced R&D Coater Process Engineer to join our Science and Technology Center team, located in Carleton, Michigan.
The scope of this position will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
•Performing thin film coatings experiments
•Measuring optical properties of coatings
•Analyzing optical data
•Operation of glass washer controls
•Operation of coater controls
•Modifying coater hardware
•Writing experimental plans and reporting data to management
•Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of complex vacuum components
•Some coater maintenance including operation of overhead cranes
Job Requirements :
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and traits:
•B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field
•2+ years of thin films experience
•Hands-on knowledge of vacuum equipment hardware
•Work experience in R&D and production vacuum coating equipment desirable
