Elster Solutions is looking for an experienced RF design engineer.



The successful candidate would have the ability to understand communication theory, evaluate various communications alternatives and design effective communications circuits with special emphasis on low cost. A working knowledge of integrated circuits and other electronic parts is necessary. The candidate also will be familiar with modern electronic manufacturing techniques. The candidate will be asked to use creativity, experience, and judgment to achieve reliable and manufactuable products in a timely manner.


Hands on experience with printed circuit board design and layout, sufficient to direct a layout draftsperson is required. The Preferred candidate would ideally have experience designing with a variety of transceivers, using a variety of modulation schemes. Design experience with discrete components and RF modules is desirable. Antenna design experience is preferred. Candidate will provide technical expertise to support third party or Elster developments of communication solutions. Candidate should have good communication and writing skills to interact with internal and external project teams and for customer interactions.


Requirements:

•The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
•At least two years experience in design of communications technologies that may include radio, telephony, and power line carrier.
•Must be able to effectively communicate both in writing and orally.
•Must be familiar with office productivity software and computerized engineering tools.
