Job Description
Description
As a member of the assay development group, the Research Associate will assist with the development,
qualification, and performance of in vitro assays to ensure the quality of ViaCyte’s cell and combination
products. Key duties and responsibilities will be focused in the areas of:
• Flow cytometry
• ELISA
• Gene expression
• Cell culture in support of assay development activities, and
• General laboratory support, including quality control of laboratory instruments, reagent preparation
and maintenance of supply inventories for the department.

Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences and a minimum of two years of laboratory work.
Experience with cell staining and flow cytometry acquisition is required. Experience performing molecular
biology techniques and enzyme assay techniques is preferred. Knowledge of stem cell biology and/or
developmental biology is also preferred. Must have the ability and willingness to perform a wide variety of
tasks – from those which are routine in nature to those which require independent thought and analysis.
Meticulous attention to detail is critical. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be
skilled in Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
