The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department is seeking a motivated Research Associate I/II level, laboratory-based individual to support fast-paced small-molecule drug discovery. Candidates with LC/MS and PK experiences are preferred. The Research Associate I/II position will be responsible for the bioanalysis of in vivo and/or in vitro samples, tuning and method development of research compounds, and data processing. The Research Associate I/II position will work with state-of-the-art LC/MS systems and should be comfortable with routine bioanalysis. The successful candidate will work closely with many talented and experienced scientists to create medicines that will make a difference in the treatment of serious diseases. Candidates should exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills and possess a desire to work in a fast-paced, flexible, and dynamic environment.
• Conduct bioanalysis of in vivo/in vitro samples
• Conduct in vitro experiments
• Develop and qualify bioanalytical assay methods to analyze samples using LC-MS/MS
• LC/MS trouble shooting
• Data processing
• Generate PK data
• Work closely with other DMPK research associates and scientists to provide appropriate mechanistic support to Theravance projects
• Maintain accurate records
Requirements
Applicants should possess at least a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry or related coursework and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Prior experiences with LC/MS, PK, and in vivo bioanalysis are preferred.
• 2years+ mass spectroscopy- AB Sciex and Thermo MS (any MS okay, preferred for AB Sciex instruments)
• Bioanalysis (processing tissue and plasma samples, preferred having worked with animal, samples come from pharmacology department and other members of the team)
• In vitro DMPK techniques including microsome incubation, hepatocyte stability, protein binding
