Research Associate, Protein Sciences

Job Description
Alder is currently seeking a Research Associate to join our Protein Sciences group. The successful candidate for this entry-level position will work to support our fermentation and discovery infrastructure with the purification and characterization of proteins, primarily monoclonal antibodies. Daily responsibilities will include: operation of chromatography equipment, SDS-PAGE, dialysis, UV spectrometry, use of aseptic technique, filtration and buffer preparation. An important aspect of this position requires cross team information and data transfer. Furthermore, detailed notebook documentation of data and uploading to electronic databases is expected.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or molecular biology. Prior laboratory experience in protein purification and characterization is strongly desirable (preferably in an industry setting). Requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, solid mechanical aptitude and experienced trouble-shooting capability and strong communication skills are required. This position also requires the ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a team.
