Role Purpose/Accountabilities:
*This position will mainly support development of resistant insect colonies and mode of
action studies of insecticidal traits for global biostress trait research and development.
*To work on multiple tasks in support of project goals.
*To be a responsible team member who diligently works to deliver group objectives.
*A bench scientist who can conduct experiments independently and professionally
*To provide up-to-date biotech knowledge and technical support for biostress trait characterization
*To deliver technical objectives in a timely manner in a team environment
*Join troubleshooting activities for scientific challenges
*To analyze and report results
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
*Industry or academic experience and knowledge of working in an insectary
*Knowledge in protein biochemistry and molecular biology is a plus
*Strong curiosity in the biological sciences
*A strong interest in and knowledge of agricultural biotechnology is necessary
*PhD degree with postdoctoral experience in entomology, toxicology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related areas or MS degree with at least 5 years of working experience in the same fields
*In-depth knowledge of insect biology and genetics
*Knowledge in insecticidal proteins and their modes of action
*Experience of initiating and maintaining resistant insect colonies
*Experience of handling insecticidal protein and screening for resistance development
*Experience of maintaining multiple lab insect colonies over generations
*Excellent in experiment design and data analysis for bioassays and insecticidal toxin screening
*Excellent troubleshooting, data analysis and reporting skills
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
*Experience of quality management system, collaboration management is a plus
