Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, is currently seeking a Risk Control Analyst, Crude Oil, in our Houston, TX office. This person will be responsible for analyzing, assessing, modeling, monitoring and reporting financial risk within the marketing affiliates of the Tidal US and Enbridge Energy Marketing business units. Under direction of the Supervisor, the Risk Control Analyst will provide oversight and support of the business unit risk management policy including development, compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities

Responsible for loading and confirming Crude Oil prices on a daily basis. All commodity price related tasks will reside with this role.

Maintain the Risk Pricing Application and crude oil market curves, valuation pools and
location adjustments.

Become the lead on curve projects in OpenLink and resolve pricing issues in OpenLink

Work closely with Accounting, Credit and Contract Administration to provide prices, deal information, earnings accrual reviews and ad hoc requests from these departments.

Assume various month end and quarter end Risk reporting responsibilities with multiple interactions with front, middle and back office groups.

Reconcile transactions between the risk systems/models and Front Office spreadsheets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with all groups that interact with Risk

Control to increase efficiencies and promote a cohesive environment.

Maintain transportation estimates in the Risk System and demand charge spreadsheets.

Review against Front Office estimates.

Maintain Evergreen folders and documents and become the point person for Evergreen deals.

Responsible for crude enhancement forecast updates, review/reconciliation of inventories, and other various assignments.

Maintain and organize transaction trade tickets and transaction amendments.

Become the point person for Credit inquiries.

Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting the financial risk (fixed price, basis) within the marketing affiliates of the Tidal US and Enbridge Energy Marketing business units. This includes updating and providing analysis for the P&L and position reports daily, weekly and monthly.

Prepare documents for SOX reviews, including pricing and transaction logs.

Assist Supervisor and other Risk Control Analysts with daily and weekly processes and maintain coverage for other analysts when needed

Work with Risk Accounting to provide the information they need to record the fair values of derivatives.

Document and maintain various procedures and processes

Assist with audit engagements as necessary

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. Perform ad hoc analysis as required.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree preferred.

Background in Accounting/Business/Finance is recommended.

Problem solving and the ability to analyze and reach conclusions on a daily basis are critical.

Heavy analytical skill aptitude

Computer skills, particularly in Microsoft products and Openlink Endur are preferred.

Desire to enhance understanding of trading concepts and trading operations regarding the front, middle and back office

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships.

Good planning, organizational skills and self discipline are essential

Ability to manage and organize own activities to achieve deadlines and contribute to the operation as a whole

Crude Oil, NGL and Natural gas industry experience preferred but not required
