Risk Product Manager

Job Description
Overview:
Lead product management and promotional activities for designated product lines. Act as market advocate in defining ongoing client requirements for service features, partner with operating areas and outside suppliers to ensure services meet or exceed those requirements, and position Wheels services in a manner consistent with overall corporate objectives and strategies.

Responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITIES

Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.

Develop a thorough knowledge of all Wheels policies, programs and culture of fleet management.

Achieve business (revenue and profitability, business growth) and marketing goals (market image, client satisfaction) for designated products.

Lead capability development efforts for new or expanded services, including setting product vision, developing service requirements, serve as the market advocate and subject matter expert to the operations and IT team members to guide decisions through the development process, build business cases for executive review, create business partnerships, etc.

Implement necessary reporting and monitor product performance per designated guidelines.

Act as product expert/go to person for operating areas and sales questions and issues.

Research and maintain information about competitor's actions, capabilities, and performance for designated services.

Facilitate development of service performance measures and benchmarks that allow Wheels to demonstrate superior performance and value to its clients.

Maintain a current and accurate database of target companies and sales approach and status for each prospect in designated product lines.

Provide management with continuous feedback regarding the programs and price structures of the competition.

Support response activity to request for proposals.

Make sales presentations.

Interact with Wheels personnel in a professional and businesslike manner.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing / presentations

Strong organizational skills and ability to interact with potential prospects and clients at all levels of management

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work with PC applications including spreadsheets, word processing, and sales management

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Outstanding presentation skills

Able to demonstrate self-discipline to work without direct supervision

Strategic thinking and intellectual curiosity – able to identify the right questions to ask, challenge the organization and evaluate opportunities / issues in the broader context of the business

Project management skills to manage broad business initiatives

Good negotiation skills – able to create win/win situations

Ability to develop a product marketing plan and execute all aspects (promotion, pricing, product development)

Valid driver's license with good record


EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA desirable.
4+ years product management and consulting (or analogous, e.g. client management) experience in challenging intellectual environments. P&L management preferred, particularly in service or manufacturing industries.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel overnight; must make in-person sales and client calls.
