| Job Description | Ajinomoto Althea has an opportunity for a Scientist in the Analytical Development group. The Scientist is responsible for the development, qualification, and validation of analytical methods. The Scientist is expected to organize, evaluate, and draw conclusions from experimental data, making mature scientific decisions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:
?Develops, qualifies, and validates analytical methods
?Organizes, evaluates and draws conclusions from experimental data; makes mature technical judgments.
?Performs analyses to support client?s products for those projects that are limited in scope and typically involve the application of established analytical methods to support a specific product issue.
?Originates reports in the appropriate written or oral form so that new ideas or approaches are brought to the attention of appropriate personnel
?Helps prepare technical papers for publication or presentation.
?Creates and updates SOP?s.
?Contributes to project progress within scientific discipline through innovative research.
?Maintains laboratory notebooks, prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.
?Maintains familiarity with literature and recent advances in particular fields of interest; acquires knowledge and understanding in related fields.
?Responsible for identifying patentable inventions and acting as investigator in conducting experiments.
?Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company?s policies and practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
?Ph.D. in a Life Sciences background or equivalent. Biochemistry or Analytical Chemistry highly preferred.
?Eight to ten years of experience in a relevant discipline
?Experience wiht immunochemistry development (ELISA, Western blotting) highly desired
?Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
?Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
?Demonstrated ability to follow detailed directions in a laboratory environment.
?Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
