Bachelor's in a scientific discipline, or Associate’s degree and LAT or LATg certification with at least 8 years experience or Master’s with at least 5 years experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Celgene Avilomics Research is seeking an Animal Care Scientist to support in vivo studies. The successful candidate will provide high quality pharmacology support to enable the achievements of key research milestones at the project level.
Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Ability to design and execute animal experiments to test hypotheses and develop models in rodents.
- Perform in-life portion of rodent experiments including administering drugs IV, IP, PO, and harvesting blood and tissues for analysis; advise other team members of technical issues with experiments and suggest solutions for addressing issues. Able to handle and restrain various rodent species and bleed rodents by multiple routes. Collect and process biological fluids for bioanalytic evaluation of biomarker/drug levels.
- Serve as Pharmacology representative on project teams. Communicate effectively with supervisor and coworkers. Write documents such as pre-clinical study reports, SOPs and pharmacology sections of INDs and maintain accurate laboratory notebooks.
- Assist in management of animal facility and husbandry.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and organizational skills, and be able to work in teams. Must have excellent attention to detail.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Minimum requirements: Bachelor's in a scientific discipline, or Associate’s degree and LAT or LATg certification with at least 8 years experience, or Master’s with at least 5 years experience.
- Familiar with federal, state and local regulations as well as AAALAC and IACUC guidelines. Additional responsibilities may include: management of an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), supervision of research associates, biomarker development.
Skills/Knowledge Desired
- Experience with various inflammation and oncology models highly desirable.
