Job Description

Responsibilities include:

•validating and implementing process improvements for the kPCR, bDNA, TRUGENE and sample preparation product lines

•designing and writing validation plans, protocols and reports as well as reviewing and editing protocols and reports for lower level technicians

•analyzing and investigating semi-complex problems, reviewing data and preparing data summary reports

•performing technical analysis and risk assessments in support of validations and design change projects

•working with manager and laboratory personnel to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of testing, and that operations are performed safely and in compliance with cGLP/cGMP guidelines

•communicating activities, accomplishments and issues on a timely basis

•performing tasks to achieve personal, laboratory, and department goals and objectives

Required skills:

•broad knowledge of molecular diagnostic methods, particularly bDNA, kinetic PCR, DNA sequencing, and sample extraction

•must have ability to generate, compile and analyze complex data sets

•ability to multitask and change priorities with minimal notice in support of current business needs

•proven ability to work successfully as both a team member in cross-functional settings and independently to complete assigned projects

•excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

•industry experience developing assays, implementing design changes to existing products is preferred

•experience with Six Sigma or Lean processes, control systems or statistics is a plus

Education and Job Experience:

Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, or related field with 5 years of job-related experience
