Blueprint Medicines is seeking a highly motivated scientist with a PhD degree to participate in medicinal chemistry programs to identify drug candidates for clinical development. This individual should possess a strong core competency in modern synthetic organic chemistry theory and techniques as applied to the design, synthesis and characterization of complex small molecules.
Education & Qualifications
This position requires a PhD degree in organic or medicinal chemistry, with preferably 2-4 years post-doctoral experience in academia or pharma/biotech.
The qualified individual will also have the following:
Demonstrated proficiency in the design, planning and execution of multi-step organic reaction sequences and purifications in high purity and yield;
Demonstrated technical skills and scientific creativity in organic and/or medicinal chemistry;
Demonstrated expertise in synthetic organic reactions and mechanisms with a proven record in solving tough synthetic problems;
Demonstrated experience in complex problem solving through in depth analysis of data or situations;
Proficient and knowledgeable in modern synthetic methods and instrumentation as well as the interpretation of data for NMR, chromatographic separation (analytical/prep HPLC), LC/MS, and other analytical methods used to characterize small molecules;
Organized, results-driven and detail-oriented.
