Job Description
The Companion Diagnostics and Biomarkers Group of Seattle Genetics is looking for a Scientist or Senior Scientist in the area of immuno-oncology/oncology biomarker development. This position will support the selection, development, implementation and data analysis of, but not limited to, FACS based biomarkers and functional T- cell response assays such as MHC Dextramer and ELISPOT. The successful candidate should have a strong background in immunology and proved track record in successfully implementing biomarker assays in clinical trial setting in the area of immuno-oncology and/or oncology. Familiarity with fit-for-purpose clinical assay qualification and experience with assay transfer to CRO and clinical sites is highly desired. The successful candidate is expected to work with the biomarker lead and cross-functional biomarker team to develop and test biomarker hypotheses preclinically and clinically. The candidate will interface closely with the clinical development team, research and CRO vendors and is expected to contribute to the scientific content and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of the group. Outstanding communication skills including both oral and written presentation are required.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience ; or a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience; of which a minimum of 5 years of clinical biomarker experience
• Deep understanding of cancer, autoimmune and/or inflammation biology and cancer immunology preferred.
• Understanding of clinical operations with the ability to design fit-for-purpose assay qualification and implement well-designed experiments within a clinical trial environment.
• Excellent communication skills; able to evaluate and articulate complex scientific and business issues and implement solutions
• Ability to focus on key issues
