The Scientist position will perform a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures, perform assays and support assay and method transfer. The Scientist is expected to possess a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and can reliably conduct complex analysis with limited supervision.

NOTE: The Scientist will be required to travel to other PPD locations out of state during the first 3 - 5 months on the job for training and cross-training on techniques.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
•BS in Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 2+ years experience in a laboratory setting or
•Associates degree in laboratory science with 6 years of hands on laboratory experience or
•Non-degreed with 8 years of hands on Pharmaceutical laboratory experience
•Or equivalent years experience in lieu of education

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Experience with vaccine or related testing
•Knowledge of assays such as cell based assays, bacterial functional assays, immunoassays or similar experience
•Manual dexterity
•Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
•Cooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision
•Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame
•Maintain a laboratory notebook and complete all documentation with clear and accurate language and according to the Standard Operating Procedures
•Ability to write protocols and reports with minimum supervision
