Security Engineer

Job Description
As a member of the Security Engineering Group, candidate will have responsibilities within the functions of Prudential's Identity and Access Governance infrastructure. Execute and maintain daily engineering and operational functions in support of technical security analysts within the Information Security Office (ISO) and Global Business Technology Solutions (GBTS) engineering requirements. Perform duties to ensure that the daily functionality of security tools are maintained in direct support of the Information Security Office and it's designees. Execute the ""care and feeding"" of these tools; to include support for daily operations, upgrades, routine maintenance, vendor patches, operational efficiencies or internally driven changes. Apply operational and change management processes in a timely and effective manner without disruption to the flow of deliverable output to supported business areas. As required, work directly with the Information Security Office, and collaborate with Platform Engineering functions and counterparts within Central Security Services to implement appropriate engineering solutions based upon business and security oversight objectives approved by the ISO. This includes streamlining of security product operations and supporting strategy, with a focus on obtaining optimum value of existing product suites; providing a relentless customer focus and results oriented environment.

Specifically for but not limited to; Enterprise wide Information Security Access and Identity Management Systems & related products as required.

Implements efficient, cost effective application program solutions (e.g., codes and/or reuses existing codes through the use of program development software alternatives and/or integrates purchased solutions). Devises data verification methods and standard systems procedures and participates in systems testing. Performs related duties as assigned or requested. This job is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime.

Qualifications

Job Requirements include:

Experience with Oracle SQL, or similar relational DBMS, Clear understanding of points of configuration including (services, registry settings, and group / local / global policy) for Unix (Redhat Linux) and Windows server operating systems.

At least one year experience in Java (version 1.5 or more current), including but not limited to JavaScript programming

Proven ability to apply and maintain job schedules, product upgrades, routine maintenance, and managing vendor support for security identity focused tools including but not limited to IBM Tivoli's Identity Manager or similar products.

Experience with user identity provisioning, account access controls and associated operational processes, in particular for implementations of Aveksa's Access Request infrastructure, IBM's Tivoli Identity Manager (ITIM), Directory Integrator (TDI) or similar identity management and access request tools.

Familiarity with enterprise email infrastructure (Lotus Notes, Lotus Script, etc) and related web security products.

Ability and proven experience in managing and reviewing Unix (Linux) and Windows Active
Directory file structures and associated Access Control Lists (ACLs)

Familiarity/knowledge of Windows Services with the ability to execute directed configuration changes

Ability to learn/apply new technologies, while working in partnership with other areas to capture business system requirements.

Ability to work closely with vendors, providing them technical support as a subject matter expert and oversight on the quality of their software work products.

Demonstrated experience in working within a change management controlled environment while maintaining and performing technical duties on varied projects concurrently.

Good oral and written communication skills

Previous experience with implementing Aveksa product is a plus
