Senior Accountant (Cost Accounting)

Guardian Industries is a leading worldwide manufacturer of float glass and fabricated glass products for the commercial and residential construction industries. The company is also one of the top 100 global automotive suppliers, as well as one of the largest manufacturers of fiberglass insulation in the world and occupies a significant and growing position in the building materials distribution business. The company and its subsidiaries operate facilities throughout North America, Europe, South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant for our float glass manufacturing plant in Kingsburg, California. The Senior Accountant will of course possess the skills and knowledge sought below, but more importantly, he or she will need to be emotionally committed to their work and to Guardian. By this we aim to hire an individual who is highly motivated and energetic, confident yet humble, socially agile, and competitive through teams.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate will initially and/or over time have the following responsibilities:

ABC Cost Accounting and Month End Variance Analysis

Oversee A/R & A/P

Assisting in annual audit preparation and tax preparation

Month End Close Reconciliations and Process Optimization

Assist in CAPEX request

Timely resolutions to requests from corporate

Job Requirements

The candidate will possess the following skills:

High level of competence working with complex systems and report writing

Understanding of financial accounting and statement preparation

Advanced Excel and Access skills

Prior experience managing is a plus, but not required

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

Bachelorís degree in accounting or finance

Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting including, but not limited to
Standard or ABC Costing

Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and internet based applications

Strong communication skills, written and oral

Excellent customer service skills

Problem solving skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

An inquisitive mind with a desire to learn
