This position is primarily responsible for:
1) review and analysis of F2F balance sheet and profit & loss results and preparation of
2) preparation and review of net quota share reports, entries and related analytics
3) preparation of quarterly cash roll report and related ARTS entries for all BU¿s
4) support of the quarterly close process which includes preparation of ceded recoverable bad debt reserve, cash roll, review of accounting for Crawford and various other functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Review and analyze F2F balance sheet and profit & loss results quarterly, which includes case, IBNR, ALAE and ULAE. Prepare various analytical reports which include calculating losses via premium and loss rates and comparing results to Peoplesoft and ensuring that File to Finance agrees to entry recorded by London. Reconcile results per actuarial File to Finance to Peoplesoft and prepare the Loss Reserve Reconciliation report.
-Calculate and prepare entries for net quota share (NQS) reserve, paid and IBNR for the quarter. Analyze results to ensure accuracy. Prepare the NQS roll forward schedule and templates quarterly, resolving any issues which may occur.
-Prepare the quarterly cash roll report and related ARTS entries for all BU¿s. Ensure that support is obtained for all balances.
-Support the quarterly close process which includes analyzing and preparing Peoplesoft entries for treaties, ceded recoverable bad debt and other close functions.
-Manage the accounting for Crawford, which includes reviewing monthly payment & accrual entries and quarterly reserve entry and the reconciliation of the receivable account.
-Prepare account reconciliations for certain other accounts quarterly.
-4-8 years of Property & Casualty insurance accounting experience
-Bachelors degree in Accounting
-CPA a plus
-Actuarial loss reserve (Case, IBNR and ULAE) experience.
-Working knowledge of Excel and solid experience with Peoplesoft general ledger a plus
-Ambitious and highly-motivated with a positive attitude in a fast paced/changing environment
-Solid communication and organization skills.
The successful candidate for this position is likely to have a minimum of 4 years of experience.
